Galileo™ Open Field Controller is a computerized irrigation control system for use in large open fields, farms, and orchards. The system is capable of performing irrigation, fertilization, filter flushing, water pump activation precisely and automatically from any distance by using different communication means and transmitting this information to a central PC. The controller can be incorporated into a network of several units linked to a central computer. |
Galileo 2000 controller allows direct communication through a cable for each input or output separately, or by RTUs (Radio Terminal Units) through a single cable or radio transmission.
Each controller can be programmed through its own keyboard or through the central computer.
- Flexible software with options and a single controller can perform the following functions:
- Up to 250 irrigation valves
- Up to 20 fertilizer pumps
- Up to 40 automatic flushed filters
- Up to 20 irrigation heads
- Up to 20 water supplying pumps
- Up to 10 different alarm outputs
- Up to 20 general outputs (for functions not placed in advance)
- The following Digital Inputs (dry contact) are available with:
- Up to 100 water meters
- Up to 20 “Start” contacts (for initiation of the irrigation sequences following an external signal)
- Up to 20 “Wait” contacts (pause irrigation sequence as long as input power is on)
- Up to 20 “End” contacts (terminates operation of the sequence)
- Up to 20 “Operate” contacts (sequence can operate only when input power is on)
- The following Analog Inputs are available with:
- Up to 100 analog inputs (4-20mA) for different sensor readings; tensiometers, wind velocity, wind direction, EC, pH, temperature, humidity, radiation, etc.
- Each sensor can be connected independently to any free port.

Hardware Description
Housing is Aluminum box with six card slots.
A power supply unit is installed in one of these slots and an additional slot carries the main controller’s board. In the additional four slots, it is possible to install four I/O units according to the user’s needs.
Optional combinations include:
- A card with 24 outputs
- A card with 16, 4-20mA, analog inputs
- A mixed card: 16 outputs + 8 digital inputs
- Interface card for 64 cable RTUs
Plastic cover is identical in all Galileo models, consisting of a keyboard with 23 symbols and digits used for programming and data presentation.
An LCD display with two lines of 24 alpha numeric characters each.
Communication Ports
Two RS232 outputs for network communications and one port for communications with the expansion unit.
Expansion by an additional box with four slots for additional I/O cards.
A 5 year Lithium battery provides back-up. |
